When You're Done Dying
When You’re Done Dying is an installation that represents the parking lot and entrance of an abandoned business in an alternate reality.
An awning has no cover and marks no entrance as it hangs on the gallery wall. A parking lot sign appears to have been pulled from the ground and affected by indiscernible forces. The space feels cold but oddly inviting as each of these installation elements emit a cool fluorescent light that fills the gallery space.
Each of the installation pieces are made of cheap building materials found at DIY mega stores, not what actual store signage, ceiling lights, or awnings are made from. Foam, plywood, window screen and paint mimic metal and concrete.
